Live at The Citrus Club, Edinburgh – 14th August 2009

July 17th, 2009

Hot on the heels of our support slot with The Beat, we’re excited to announce our very own headlining gig at The Citrus Club on Friday 14th August 2009 at the height of the 2009 Edinburgh Festival. We’ll be playing a full length set featuring a whole host of well known favourites together with a smattering of forgotten gems from the classic early to mid eighties period and featuring our special syncronised video/light show which is fast becoming our trademark.

Tickets are £6.00 in advance or £8.00 on the night, which includes entry to Planet Earth club night which follows immediately afterwards (normally £5.00).  Advance tickets are available NOW at Ripping Records and Tickets Scotland (subject to booking fee).

Website Live

Welcome to our new website! Only a few pages at the moment but hopefully enough to give you an idea of what we’re all about. There’s more to come – photos from recent gigs and a whole load of technical info for all those of you curious about what goes into making a PF3 gig happen and stuff that like that – that’ll be here shortly. We’ll also be bringing you some audio and video of the band in action just as soon as we can record some. We’re hoping to do something about this at our next gig. Speaking of which…

Supporting The Beat

June 15th, 2009

On 19th June, we had the pleasure and priviledge of supporting 80s 2-Tone legends The Beat on the Edinburgh leg of their recent UK tour. The gig took place at The Picture House which has been recently transformed back into a live music venue after years as a nightclub and it’s a great space – something Edinburgh has needed for a long time, a decent capacity city centre old school style venue. It’s already making its mark attracting a good variety of name bands who until now might have missed Edinburgh off the touring schedule.

Party Fears Three supporting The Beat in Edinburgh, 19th June 2009.

Although we were first on the bill, I am told there were around 200 people already through the door whilst we were on stage and judging by the appluase we could hear and comments afterwards we were very well recieved. We did six songs which were:

- The Safety Dance
- Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You)
- Talk Talk
- New Life
- The Sun Always Shines On TV
- Planet Earth

We were also able to make use of the venue’s in-house projector system so each song was accompanied with special syncronised videos which we’ve made specially for them which greatly enhanced the show. The only downside was that Don could not be with us on the night due to a sudden family emergency – some last minute re-programming the night before ensured that the show could go on, but it wasn’t same without him. But he’ll be back for the next one!

It was quite a thrill performing on the same stage as a geniune top ten 80s band and we are very grateful to Bryan Chalmers of Citrus Club fame for setting it all up for us, not to mention the venue staff who were extremely accomodating and helpful.  Thanks also to Paul and Pippa who came all the way from Oxford to support us and for taking some fantastic pictures, many of which are now featured on this site.
