Many, many thanks to everyone who came to see us at our gig with The Messengers last weekend at the official Voxgate at The 100 Club in London. I think it’s fair to say that the event surpassed everyone’s expectations and that is in no small way due to all the hard work and financial investment put in by the Extreme Voice crew – Paul, Pippa, Rob and Cerise. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to play at the event and at such a prestigious venue at that! Thanks also to The Messengers, who we were humbled to be supporting, it was a pleasure to share the stage and your Jack Daniels with you. And thanks of course to everyone who came to watch and especially those who took the trouble to come and tell us how much you enjoyed the show afterwards. We’re thrilled to see so many photos and videos appearing around the web following the show, we really appreciate your support and we hope to be able to play another gig down your way soon.

Some of you have mentioned the keyboard levels. There was certainly something seriously wrong for the first few songs with nothing coming out at all and although we got that resolved as we went on, it was never quite right for the rest of the set. I think what caused the problem this time is that the sound tech didn’t realise that Don is usually triggering sounds from my module rather than his own synths and as a result he thought he was miming most of the time and didn’t realise that between the sound check and the show something had gone wrong. Plus we had to reconfigure everything for a mono mix at the last moment, which we were not expecting and that may also have had a part to play with levels. It’s not really anyone’s fault – these things happen and it’s a particular hazard if you need to use someone who is unfamiliar with your set up to run your FOH sound as they don’t necessarily realise anything is wrong! And of course once we get going it’s something we can’t do anything about because up on stage we have no idea about what you can hear (it’s hard enough to hear ourselves!). But we hope it didn’t spoil your enjoyment too much.
The highly talented Vikki McCraw travelled with us and took some fantastic shots during the day which we hope to share with you soon. In the meantime, Brian Devine a.k.a. Matey Bloke has placed some video clips on YouTube which you can access as follows:
